Notice
is hereby given that the Mount Vernon City School District
will be receiving sealed bids at the Purchasing Department
located at 165 North Columbus Avenue, Mount Vernon, NY 10553,
for the installation of site drainage, modification and repairs
at Graham Elementary School located at 421 East 5th Street,
Mount Vernon, NY.
A copy
of the Bid Instructions, Bid Forms and Specifications may
be inspected and picked up from the Purchasing Department
at the Mount Vernon City School District Offices between the
hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., except Saturdays, Sundays
and holidays. Further information may be obtained by calling
the district Purchasing Agent, Mr. Gene George at (914) 665-5197.
All Bidders
must use and complete all Bid Forms and must comply with every
requirement contained in the Instructions and Specifications.
Bids are to be marked in a sealed envelope and delivered to
Mr. Gene George, Purchasing Agent, Mount Vernon City School
District 165 North Columbus Avenue, Mount Vernon, NY, with
the name of the project, "GRAHAM SCHOOL EMERGENCY
REPAIR: SITE DRAINAGE, MODIFICATION AND REPAIRS - BID SPEC
NO. COO-11", plainly marked on the front of the envelope.
Every Bid must be accompanied by a certified check or a Bid
Bond in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the
Base Bid or $20,000.00, whichever is less.
Any person
or corporation proposing to submit a Bid must take out a minimum
of one (1) set of Drawings and Specifications and may obtain
same upon deposit of $50.00 company check made out to: Mount
Vernon City School District.
There
will be a pre-bid meeting on Tuesday, May 8, 2001, starting
at 9:30 am, at Graham Elementary School, 421 East 5th Street,
Mount Vernon, NY 10550. It is highly recommended that all
contractors intending to bid the projects attend the pre-bid
meeting. Contractors are required to visit the site at some
point before submitting bids. Arrangements to visit the site
can be made through Turner/Luster Joint Venture, Mr. Noel
Green (914) 665-7559; or Mount Vernon City School District,
Mr. Robin Cole (914) 665-5189.
Bidders
are required to comply with the requirements of Public Law
1975, Chapter 127, "Law Against Discrimination."
Bids must
be submitted to the Mount Vernon City School District no later
than 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2001. All Bids will be
opened and read to the public at that time by the Purchasing
Agent at the District Offices. No Bid may be withdrawn for
a period of sixty (60) days from the opening of the Bids.
The Mount
Vernon City School District reserves the right to reject any
or all bids and waive any informality in the bidding process
if it is in the best interest of the District. The Contract,
if awarded, shall be awarded to the lowest responsible Bidder.,
No Bid shall be deemed accepted until the adoption of a formal
resolution by the Mount Vernon Board of Education.
